As highlighted in the “What’s New for Oracle Autonomous AI Database Serverless” post from December 2025, a major new enhancement is coming to simplify database migrations to Oracle Autonomous AI Database Serverless. Oracle is adding support for Transportable Tablespaces, enabling faster and more efficient migrations—especially for large databases.
📌 Key Enhancement: Support for Transportable Tablespaces
- Starting December 2025, Autonomous AI Database Serverless supports the Transportable Tablespace feature.
- This lets you efficiently migrate data and metadata from on-premises Oracle databases or Oracle Database Cloud Service (DBCS) into Oracle Autonomous AI Database with minimal downtime and reduced operational effort compared to traditional export/import methods.
🛠 Why This Matters
- Fast data movement: Entire user-managed tablespaces can be transported, which is much quicker than moving individual objects one by one.
